Born in Wewak PNG to missionary parents, and growing up amongst the Wape people at Eritei in the Sanduan Province, Godfrey journeyed through life while straddling two dramatically different cultures. He pioneered new creative work in the performing arts and in education, working in formal and non-formal community arts education in PNG, Australia and NZ for 25 years.
Godfrey started as Training Officer with MAF-PNG in 2010 and in late 2012 stepped into the role of Programme Manager. This challenging role included assisting with the current strategic plan which includes a strong emphasis on Partnership Development. He will now be engaging in liaison and partnership development across a wide range of church, mission and resource organisations in PNG.
Glen is Godfrey's lovely wife, and his biggest support. Glen had served with MAF in Bougainville for 4 years in the 1970’s and was recruited again in 2005 taking on the Programme Manager role at MAF’s Mareeba heavy maintenance facility in far north Queensland. She is also an important part of MAF-PNG, having been initially transferred there in 2008 as HR Manager and later moving into the new Communications Officer role. She is responsible for stories and videos that come out of MAF-PNG.
Glen and Godfrey met in 2008 at MAF in Mt. Hagen during one of Godfrey's visits back to PNG. Following their marriage in 2009, they returned to MAF-PNG in Mt. Hagen. They feel privileged to serve in the MAF-PNG team, and as the complex programme changes in response to growing needs in a less stable National environment they are anticipating God’s sustaining and enabling presence.
