Doug and Yvonne joined MAF in 1990 with their three daughters Nicola, Gillian and Deborah. Their first field assignment was for 12 months in Yirrkala in Arnhem Land, Australia's Northern Territory, where Doug was a pilot. They then served another 14 months at Oenpelli before moving to the MAF regional headquarters at Gove Airport in 1992, living in the mining town of Nhulunbuy. During this time Doug had a number of roles including Charter and Regular Public Transport pilot, Operations Manager, Executive Officer and then six years as the Arnhem Land Program Manager.
In 2006, Doug and Yvonne with their youngest daughter Deborah, relocated to the regional MAFI Group Support Office in Cairns where Doug was the Projects Manager for MAF's programs in the Asia Pacific region.
Doug, Yvonne and Deb returned to Arnhem Land in 2010 to take up a leadership and mentoring role, once again returning to Cairns in 2013.
For the next three years Doug toured in and out of PNG as Operations Director and now that their daughter Deb is living in assisted accommodation, Yvonne and Doug are based in PNG.
Doug and Yvonne believe that their service with MAF is a means of impacting people of other cultures with God's love—both spiritually and physically.
