Residential Housing Managers | PNG

MAF is seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential House Manager/s to join the team managing a boarding-type home located at Ukarumpa. This is a vital role for our Program as you will be providing interim parental care for children between the ages of 12 to 17 years whose parents work in various locations serving in PNG.

The Residential House Manager/s will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable living environment for our student boarders who call the residential house, their home. This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as a passion for serving and caring for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a safe and supportive environment.

  • Seeking to care for each child by monitoring welfare, safeguarding, and any other relevant tasks.

  • Driving children to and from evening and other activities as needed.

  • Providing advice, encouragement and emotional support to children of various ages and nationalities facing the adjustments of cross-cultural situations and living away from parents.

  • Organising the day-to-day activities involved in operating and maintaining the home, ensuring smooth operation and that the house is in good clean condition meeting the safety standards.

  • Ensuring students maintain their living space in a tidy and clean state at all times and complete assigned responsibilities in shared living spaces (including common rooms, bathrooms, toilets and kitchen).

  • Ensuring high standards of safeguarding practices are practiced and that students are treated with dignity and respect.

  • Monitoring student welfare and behaviour and responding to concerns of parents/guardians, keeping them regularly informed about matters (including positive behaviour and achievements) affecting the welfare of their child(ren).

  • Creating menus and obtaining food supplies using the most efficient source with limited resources and minimizing waste.

  • Preparing and providing three meals a day plus snacks.
    Managing, directing and working alongside national staff in-house.

  • Evaluating and reporting any maintenance needs and ensuring that the home is kept in good condition.

  • Supervising and supporting regular homework and study activities.

  • Assisting with the delivery of a regular program of weekend and night activities to enrich the personal, social and cultural development of students.

  • Attending meetings, discussions and other activities concerning the students as required.

Technical Services Manager - MAF Technologies | PNG

MAF Technologies, previously known in PNG as Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship (CRMF), has been serving the isolated communities of PNG since 1956. MAF Technologies exists to provide technical solutions that help advance the gospel and connect people to the vital services that are needed. They use services such as radio communication, computing, solar lighting and digital audio Bibles. Technology in PNG is advancing rapidly, and MAF Technologies is here to help.

We have a great opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join our MAF Technologies team to oversee the technical proficiency of MAF Technologies, its services, staff and facilities.

In this role,  you will be responsible for overseeing the Technical Service department which includes Electronics, IT and Solar/Electrical. You will bring your technical expertise and provide advice, both internally and externally, as needed to find solutions and ensure quality service. 

You will be responsible for planning and maintaining PNG Technical Services annual budget, supervising invoicing, providing regular and special reports,  and other administrative duties in conjunction with the Accounts Office.

Director of Finance Planning & Analysis | UK

This role goes beyond traditional finance; it's a gateway to making a profound impact on the world. Through your strategic planning and financial acumen, you will help MAF deliver immediate aid and foster long-term development in the most inaccessible corners of the planet. Your work supports pilots, aid workers, educators, and conservationists who rely on MAF's logistical capabilities to achieve their mission.

This role is based either in Ashford, UK or the Cairns, Australia Office. Hybrid working patterns are supportable with weekly presence in the office. Other locations would be considered if the ideal candidate is identified.

  • Extensive experience in financial management, ideally in an international or non-profit organization.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and provide clear, actionable insights

Maintenance Operations Supervisor | Mareeba or Arnhem Land

We are looking for two Maintenance Operations Supervisor's (MOS) to join our team; one in Mareeba, the other in Arnhem Land.  You will be part of the Technical Operations team and responsible for leading and managing aircraft maintenance staff, local facilities, and equipment to maximise availability of assets for mission by ensuring effective and efficient maintenance practices in accordance with organisational and regulatory procedures.

Operations Development Co-ordinator | UK or Aus

Are you passionate about aviation and driven to optimise operational efficiency?

 MAF International is seeking an Operations Development Co-coordinator to join our Flight Operations Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the capacity and capabilities of both flight and ground operations team across MAFI.

This role can be based at either one of our MAF International offices - Ashford, UK or Cairns, Australia.

Responsibilities

Change Management Support:

  • Assist in implementing new or revised standards, processes, and procedures.

  • Facilitate the integration of new software solutions, including the introduction of the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag).

  • Spearhead digitalization efforts within flight and ground operations.

  • Identify and drive efficiency improvements.

  • Advocate for continuous improvement, agile teamwork, and effective project management within flight and ground operations.

Ground Operations Standards Maintenance:

  • Act as the manual author for the ground operations manual.

  • Develop, recommend, review, and amend technical standards for ground operations.

  • Administer relevant subscriptions (Jeppesen, Garmin, V2track).

  • Assist programs in procuring necessary equipment.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and central point of contact for coordinating MAFI's automated flight following capacity.

Ground Operations Training Oversight:

  • Manage the development of ground operations training courses and act as the course owner.

  • Define priorities for course development.

  • Collaborate with operations managers to assess staff training needs.

  • Support operations managers in delivering training to program operations teams.

  • Monitor the uptake and effectiveness of ground operations training.

  • Serve as the primary contact for any Ops Support training inquiries, issues, and administration.

Office Manager | Arnhem Land

Responsibilities

In this role you will provide support to the Country Director and Senior Staff by working with them pro-actively.  You will do this through a variety of office administration duties including organising meetings and events, designing and overseeing the production of publications, making travel arrangements, taking minutes of meetings, working with Building Maintenance to coordinate property repairs, and more!

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Post High School qualification in administration or as a secretary or as PA or equivalent

  • Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Office

  • Experience as an Office Manager, Executive Secretary or equivalent

  • Experience in note taking

  • Experience in planning and facilitating meetings and conferences

  • Experience in compiling a budget

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to prepare documents or presentations

South Sudan

To enable MAF to do this critical work, we are in urgent need of Primary School teachers to be seconded to Juba Christian Academy. JCA is a small but growing mission school that strives to provide high quality international education in a loving Christian environment. The school primarily serves the children of families in Juba working with MAF, SIL and other mission organisations. Without this school, MAF pilots and managers with young families would be unable to commit to working in South Sudan.

Our aircraft land on some of the most challenging terrain, and as you can imagine safety is key so the skill that an Engineer brings to our aircraft is vital. We operate mainly single engine turbine and single engine piston aircraft.

Mission Pilots | Various Locations

We are looking for experienced mission pilots to serve in these countries and help us in our goal to reach isolated communities. Current vacancies are in Liberia, Guinea, Chad, South Sudan, and Papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities

To serve as a Pilot with MAF you will need to possess an extensive set of skills, having the ability to anticipate changes and solve problems effectively and efficiently.

You will also safely and efficiently operate MAF aircraft in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Your role will be to actively embrace your flying duties by maintaining flying qualifications in accordance with MAF standard operating procedures and national regulations. You will have a pro-active approach to the role - ensuring national licensing and medical requirements are met.

As part of a team,  in addition to flying, you will share other duties to maintain operational efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety of operations in the programme.

You will be expected to maintain and improve personal professional standard by participating in necessary training and completing relevant modules. You will also be tasked to undertake all duties commensurate with the role. 

 Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • ICAO Commercial Pilots License with instrument rating

  • Aviation Medical - Class 1 

  • IELTS Minimum English proficiency level 6 or equivalent

  • Approx 500 - 1000+ flight hours (the requirement is dependant on the country AOC and demands of aircraft and environment)

  • Candidates from a preferred Training Provider may be accepted with 250 hours depending on a suitable vacancy and location.

  • Aptitude in verbal and numerical reasoning

  • Demonstrated knowledge and operational proficiency in aircraft performance and loading, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, weather, aircraft instrumentation, crew/cockpit resource management, pilot decision making, safety and quality systems
