Partnership Development Officer

As our Strategic Partnership Manager, you will bridge the gap between MAF’s unique flight solutions and the humanitarian and spiritual needs of a nation. This is more than a networking role; it is a high-level opportunity to build strategic alliances, influence donor relations, and empower global NGOs to go further.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forge Strategic Partnerships: Identify and establish high-level relationships with NGOs, mission agencies, and donor organizations to integrate MAF aviation into their core operational strategies.

  • Analyse Humanitarian Needs: Monitor regional trends and sector activities to identify service gaps where MAF’s flight solutions can improve aid delivery to isolated communities.

  • Optimize Flight Utilisation: Work directly with partners to develop new shuttle routes, maximize payload capacity, and create "Memorandum of Understanding" agreements that increase flight frequency.

  • Manage Institutional Donor Relations: Collaborate on international tender processes and grant proposals to secure funding and participation in large-scale humanitarian consortiums.

Flight & Ground Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Flight and Ground Operations Manager to lead the team, strengthen operational systems and ensure that flying remains safe, effective and sustainable. This is a critical position for the Chad programme. Without the right operational leadership in place, the programme’s ability to grow and respond to increasing demand will be significantly limited.

The successful candidate will guide and empower a dedicated team, oversee flight and ground operations, and help ensure that MAF can continue to deliver safe, life-changing aviation services in support of its mission.

We particularly welcome applications from former MAF pilots and experienced aviation professionals, including current or retired commercial pilots, who have the skills and experience to undertake this important role. Previous experience of MAF’s operational environment and mission would be highly valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe and efficient flight operations: Oversee flight and ground activities, including scheduling, loading, fuelling and customer service, to ensure that every mission is safe, well-coordinated and effective.

Chief Engineer

 In this role, you will effectively manage the activities of our local Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), ensuring that our aircraft are maintained to MAF, national and international aviation standards. In this role, you will also support the training and development of local maintenance staff by mentoring/coaching and managing training plans.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the training and development of aviation staff by coaching them in maintaining and participate in training plans if applicable.

  • Managing stock levels

  • Ensuring documentation is completed and organised.

  • Taking an active role in the programme's management team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Completion of approved aircraft maintenance engineer pre-employment course

Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics)

As an Avionics Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our fleet mission-ready and safe for the skies. You’ll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems across a fleet of aircraft operating in challenging terrain — making sure that every takeoff and landing happens with precision and confidence.

You’ll work closely with our technical teams in Mount Hagen and remote bases, support line and base maintenance, and ensure all work complies with local aviation regulations and MAF safety standards. We’re looking for experinced engineers who are excited to pass on skills, build capability, and help national teams grow strong and independent.

Responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for the inspection, fault diagnosis and testing of aircraft avionics systems to ensure continued airworthiness and regulatory compliance. 

  • Application of approved maintenance data, regulatory standards, and aircraft documentation to ensure all avionics systems are released to service in a safe and compliant condition.

Primary School Teacher

To enable MAF to do this critical work, we are in urgent need of Primary School Teachers to be seconded to Juba Christian Academy. JCA is a small but growing mission school that strives to provide high quality international education in a loving Christian environment. The school primarily serves the children of families in Juba working with MAF, SIL and other mission organisations. Without this school, MAF pilots and managers with young families would be unable to commit to working in South Sudan.

Responsibilities:
