For the past 75 years, MAF’s goal has always been the same—to overcome the barriers that keep people isolated from the help they need. Today, that barrier is COVID-19. Our regular flights have become restricted by the pandemic. Yet MAF’s commitment to bring “hope and healing” remains the same. As we have done before during times of great need, MAF is responding—and we need your help.
When this pandemic hit, MAF was already in place and operating in 30 developing nations around the world, so we were able to respond quickly and effectively! The governments and leaders in many of the countries where we operate are asking MAF for help, so that isolated people aren’t left to fend for themselves. Our 138 aircraft are maintained and prepared to fly as needed. And 85% of our staff have remained in the countries in which they work, ready to fly in support of the fight against COVID-19.
Beyond what MAF is currently doing, we anticipate that an urgent need for food distribution, medicine and healthcare, resources and education to continue the fight against COVID-19 will last well into 2021.
