Thirteen hundred staff work in over 30 countries around the world with MAF. MAF New Zealand currently has around 25 staff serving overseas. Along with pilots and aviation engineers, MAF employs staff trained in administration, information technology, operations, accounting, project management and recruitment.

Leighton has worked for twenty three years in airline aircraft maintenance. He is a licensed maintenance engineer on Airbus, Boeing and turbo-propeller aircraft. He also has completed an aviation business management degree.
